Heartfelt yoga in Sodankylä

Every body is a yoga body! Whether you're a beginner or a long-time practitioner, yoga is good for everyone.

Yoga is about working from your own starting point, letting go of expectations, and working with your body exactly as it is each day. There is no need to be or strive for anything else. At the same time, the mind calms down, and the warmth and gentleness towards yourself and others increases.

Nouna Yoga's goal is to make yoga more visible and accessible to Sodankylä and the surrounding areas. In addition to private and corporate classes, I am interested in bringing yoga to schools and organizations.

Yoga for relief

I am passionate about bringing yoga to those who find yoga's wisdom of calming themselves down particularly beneficial: children and young people, refugees, prisoners, people recovering from mental health problems, those going through burnout...

Partnering with schools

I wish I had started yoga earlier! Yoga teaches young people how to focus, calm down, and develop emotional skills, and offers a space where they can be themselves without pressure to perform.

About me

I started yoga in 2001. For years, it was a hobby for me, forgotten in the whirlwind of life, but one I returned to after long breaks when I needed to calm down. Then I stopped to ponder on why yoga practice repeatedly called me, and I started practicing regularly.

I taught my first yoga classes in 2017 in refugee camps on the Syrian-Lebanon border. It was truly wonderful to see the impact yoga had on my students, and observing people growing on their yoga path is still one of the most rewarding things in my job.

I have deepened my yoga knowledge

2018 at Bihar School of Yoga in India and in two RYT-200 teacher trainings: 2021 (somatic flow yoga and yin yoga) and

2022 (tantric hatha yoga). I have also studied Ayurveda and yoga in India in 2024 and 2025. I currently teach actively in Sodankylä.

See you on the yoga mat,

Janni
